Registering and Using Your Account

How can I register?

You can register here. Remember that your email address will serve as your login. Once you have submitted your information, you should receive an email which will contain a link for you to activate your new account. Please be sure to set your spam filter to allow emails from the domain btflearning.org.

You should only register once. Additional registrations may cause you to lose track of your purchases and course completion history. If you would like to change your login email address, simply change it in My Info.

I registered, but the site won't accept my login.

After you register, you should receive a pre-confirmation at the email address you provided (Be sure to set your spam filter to allow emails from btflearning.org). This email includes a link which you need to click to activate your account. You will not be able to log in until you activate your account through this link.

I forgot my password.

You can automatically retrieve your password by going here and submitting your email address. Your password will be sent directly to your email within just a couple of minutes.

I have a new email address. Do I re-register?

No! Do not register more than one account. Simply log in with your old email address and password and go to My Info to change your email address as well as other account information.


Credits

What type of continuing education credit do you offer?

We are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), and Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS). Please check course detail pages for the type, category, and number of hours offered for each activity.

Are ACCME, AACN, or CECBEMS approved courses accepted in my state?

Although ACCME, AACN, and CECBEMS approved courses meet national standards and are generally accepted nationally, some states do not automatically accept externally approved activities. Please check with your state licensing board/agency to verify that credits from these courses will be accepted.

I am interested in a course that offers multiple types of certifications. Which type of credit will I receive?

Once you complete the activity, you can choose the type of credit you wish to receive from the offerings for that specific course. You must make your selection then, before you start your post-test. You cannot undo your selection after you begin the post-test.

I am in the middle of a post-test, but need to step away.

Go ahead! Our system is tracking your activity within the test. When you return, you can resume where you left off or you can choose to restart with a new test.

What happens if I fail a test?

Each course has different passing scores and maximum number of retakes. You can retake the test up to the number allowed. If you fail all attempts, you will need to repurchase the activity and start over.

How do I get my certificate?

You must view the entire activity, select the type of credit you wish to receive, complete the post-test with the minimum score for that specific course, and also complete an evaluation form. You will then be able to download an electronic certificate to save and/or print. You can also re-access certificates for all of your passed courses in your Activity Tracker.

How much do your courses cost?

Prices differ by activity. Please check our course listing for details.

Do you have organizational rates?

BTF is dedicated to helping organizations with improving guidelines compliance on a system-wide scale. For organizational rates and other related inquiries, please contact us. Currently, we offer the following discount rates:

  • 5-10 participants per individual institution = 10% off regular rate
  • 11-15 participants per individual institution = 13% off regular rate
  • 16-100 participants per individual institution = 17% off regular rate
  • 101 or more participants per individual institution = 31% off regular rate

Do you have subscription rates?

At this time, we do not offer time-based subscription rates, but we do offer bundles of activities at discount rates. Please check our course listing for details.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept MasterCard, Visa, and American Express as forms of payment.

What is your refund policy?

Refunds are available only for activities that have not been started.

If a refund is requested for an activity bundle, and only some of the activities for that bundle were started, the pro-rated amount for the activities that have not been started will be refunded.

Activity Information

What is the format used for the activities?

Formats vary, but include Flash-formatted slide presentations with or without audio and video. Please check course detail pages for additional information.

Why can't I skip ahead to a later part of the activity?

For an optimal learning experience, we encourage viewing all of the slides in order. You can use the previous, play/pause, and next buttons to navigate through consecutive slides. You can jump around freely in those slides you have already viewed using the slide thumbnails or navigation bar.

I am in the middle of an activity, but need to step away.

Go ahead! You do not need to finish an activity in one sitting. Our system is tracking your exact progress within the activity. When you restart the activity, depending on the activity, the system will bring you back to the latest point in your progress or you can skip to that slide using the slide thumbnails bar. If you have left your activity without exiting out the window, we recommend that you log back into the site and reopen the activity to avoid any problems due to session timeouts.

My login session timed out.

If you have been inactive for longer than four hours, your session will automatically time out and you will be asked to log back in to access the main website. If you have been inactive after pausing an activity, you may have trouble restarting the audio, video, or other components of the activity. Please exit out of the activity window, log back into the portal, and reopen your activity.

The audio/video stopped running in my activity.

Your login session may have timed out due to a long period of inactivity. Please return to the learning portal login page to log back in and reopen the activity.


Technical Information

Is my computer compatible with your system?

Technical requirements differ by activity. To check your system's compatibility with a specific activity, click on the Test your system for compatibility button available at the course detail page. The test will either confirm that you meet requirements or it may ask you to download and install a missing program.

How can I optimize my experience with your website?

For optimal viewing of our website, we recommend:

  • For Windows users:
    • The latest version of Mozilla Firefox® web browser – free download available at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/
    • Smooth edges of screen fonts with ClearType – Go to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Display>Appearance>Effects and set "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts" to "ClearType"
  • For Macintosh users:

I am having trouble hearing sound.

Make sure that your computer has a sound card and speakers. If you are certain that your computer has both, make sure that the sound is turned on and up on your computer. You can also adjust the sound by using the volume button within your activity. Note that not all slides within an activity have sound.

The activities or videos take too long to load.

Our system works best with a high speed Internet connection. If you are accessing the activities from a dial-up connection you will experience a slower response from our system.
